Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE), in partnership with The Congaree Vista Guild, is excited to announce the Midlands-based artists that have been selected to have their works featured in individual exhibits in 2026.

Susan Sullivan, Lyssa Harvey, Jason Peay and Caroline Clark will each be featured on a quarterly basis beginning December 2025 and continuing throughout the 2026 calendar year as part of the wildly popular, Art in the Airport program, this year presented by The Congaree Vista Guild.

“As Columbia, South Carolina’s Cultural District, we are proud to partner with the Columbia Metropolitan Airport on this program” said Congaree Vista Guild Executive Director, Abby Anderson. “We are excited to share the work of these amazing artists with the community and visitors through CAE’s Art in the Airport program.”
Below are the bios for each of the artists selected to participate in CAE’s 2026 Art in the Airport program, presented by The Congaree Vista Guild:
Susan Sullivan (December 2025-February 2026)
Susan Sullivan is a self-taught fine artist based in Lexington, South Carolina, where she lives with her husband, son, and daughter. Her love for creating artwork began in childhood, when she eagerly immersed herself in art camps and electives throughout school. Though she went on to study Nutrition and Dietetics at Clemson University and spent seven years working as a Registered Dietitian, Susan found herself drawn back to her artistic roots in 2023. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into a full-time passion and career. Susan’s work ranges from mixed media florals to impressionistic landscapes, each designed to bring comfort, elegance, and a sense of serenity into the home. Inspired by playful textiles, botanicals, motherhood, and the natural beauty of South Carolina, her work offers a thoughtful blend of traditional design and modern elements.

Lyssa Harvey, Ed.S (March-May 2026)
Lyssa Harvey, Ed.S, is a Teacher, Therapist and Artist. Lyssa recently retired after 50 years of being a Child and Adolescent Counselor and Owner of The Art and Play Therapy Center of South Carolina. Her work in water media, pastels, mixed media and handmade paper often portrays colorful, energetic landscapes or chaotic, bold, soulful arrangements on paper and canvas. Her series include Gratitude, Freedom, Return, In Thy Hand is the Soul, Essence, Awe, Neshama, 50 Shades of Blue, Wisdom in the Wetlands, Clean Space and Hot Beach. Lyssa says “Creating art feels spiritual. It connects me with what feels important. It’s a joy to paint.” Lyssa’s paintings have been shown in galleries around South Carolina and in many private collections in the Southeast. She is a Signature Member Artist of the South Carolina Watermedia Society. Lyssa Harvey currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina.

Jason Peay (July-September 2026)
Jason Peay is a 17-year-old artist born and raised in South Carolina. He has been doing art for almost his entire life but just recently gained attention on social media with some of his most eye-catching pieces. Some call Jason an artist. Others call him an activist. He is passionate about expanding representation through visual storytelling and believes art is the embodiment of unique self-expression and a language in which the soul reveals itself. His goal is to grow not just as an artist, but as a voice for something bigger. Jason Peay currently resides in Columbia, South Carolina.

Caroline Clark (October-December 2026)
Caroline Clark is a functional ceramic sculptor whose work highlights a sense of joy and wonder in everyday items. She earned a B.A. in English and Spanish, an M.A. in Spanish Education, and spent twelve years as a Spanish educator before becoming a ceramic artist. Her academic work immersed her in the world of Magical Realism, a literary genre that continues to inform her ceramic work. After a decade in New York City, she returned with her husband and son to the South Carolina forests of her childhood when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2021, where Clark rediscovered her love of ceramics. Largely self-taught, she has developed her own tools and techniques to create her functional ceramic sculptures. In January of 2022 she began showing her work and has been exhibited by Westobou Gallery, Nidum Studios, The Jasper Project, Gap Gallery, Park Circle Gallery (upcoming,) numerous juried fine art fairs throughout the Southeastern United States, and in private collections across the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. Caroline Clark currently resides in Lugoff, South Carolina

For the entire month of June 2026, The Congaree Vista Guild will be the “featured artist” with a special exhibit. Stay tuned for more details.

“We are so excited to bring back Art in the Airport after a year-long hiatus as we near the completion of our checkpoint expansion project. The response we receive from Midland’s artists interested in participating in this program is always outstanding,” said Kim Crafton, Vice President of Marketing and Air Service Development at CAE.

“Art in the Airport, managed and run by Marketing and Brand Manager Samantha Kingsmore,” continued Crafton, “allows us to feature some of the best artists from across the Midlands region and provide a touch of South Carolina’s vibrant art scene to our passengers as they land in Columbia. We get to display one-of-a-kind art in our airport while creating a sense of place. And we’re so honored that this year Art in the Airport is presented by The Congaree Vista Guild.”
